#SingleExamSingleDay #AIIMSforAIPGME Please share ......This is what thousands of MBBS graduates are facing in a country where ironically medicine is one of the only two worthy professions. So please spread the word..share the post, start a petition. Lets not just focus all our attention on the wrong deeds of a small part of the medical fraternity and let us actually discuss a small part of the trials and tribulations faced by doctors in our country . Let us bring a small change in the horrendous and unfair education system in our country. This is only the tip of the iceberg but we should start somewhere! THE PLIGHT OF INDIAN MEDICAL GRADUATES The plots and twists orchestrated by the INDIFFERENT, IRRESPONSIBLE AND UTTERLY INEFFICIENT NBE _ National board of examinations which has so far only succeeded in keeping thousands of doctors at home and away from the careers theyve been working so hard for! Unfortunately for us it only keeps escalating. This is not the first time we have been thrown off course by an exam body that makes a mockery of this countrys doctors, again and again and again. Some of the things that we have to bear with: 2012 * Suddenly announcing exam dates 3 weeks before the exam, AFTER a long period of silence during which students torture themselves with anxiety and uncertainty. *Making candidates leave all their work and queue up outside banks for HOURS, only to run back and find that there are no slots left in your home city. And then realizing, a few days later, that slots have been added, and people who got vouchers days after you, got a slot at home. While you have to travel halfway across the country to give one exam. *Charging Rs 4250 for a single exam! When other major institutes like AIIMS and JIPMER charge 1000 . On top of that, charging Rs 2500 as counselling fee!! NBE, keep in mind, most candidates are studying full-time, and not working - are you trying to bleed them dry??! *To describe the pattern of exam and its ridiculous system of evaluation, one word. UNPREDICTABLE. Random questions on random topics, asking exact percentages, showing pictures of scientists, SO MUCH variability between one days exam and the next - and on top of that, questions cannot be discussed, answers cannot be discussed, evaluation method cannot be discussed - everything is a secret, whatever result you get, just take it and accept your fate. 2013 *Issuing hall tickets three days before exam, so that we dont know WHEN AND WHERE the exam will be till 2-3 days prior. How are students supposed to arrange for tickets and stay? Dont care! 2014 May *The key dates put up on the website are NEVER followed. If they dont plan to release results on the said date, why mention it on the website?? Helpdesks have no information whatsoever, candidates are made to go through WEEKS of constant tension, before FINALLY they release results ON PHONE!!! The mad scramble that follows is enough to destroy everyones sanity for that entire week. *After days of waiting they announce a counselling schedule. As usual, travel is expensive, but somehow each candidate PAINSTAKINGLY manages to book flights/trains/hotel/cab etc etc. Mind you NBE, the amount of money spent on these things blows a hole through our already thinned out pockets. *Finally, its time to leave for Delhi, and some of us have even started our long journey of 1 or 2 days. Some are preparing to leave. Those who didnt want to take chances have come to Delhi beforehand. And then, out of nowhere, everybody gets an email and an sms that counselling has been DEFERRED. WHY? No idea. FOR HOW LONG? No idea. What about all the TIME, MONEY, EFFORT AND PAIN that hundreds or even thousands of candidates have put into this? Dont care. Because who cares about the injustice that doctors are being put through, right? As if the entrance exams were not traumatic enough, NBE has taken the art of harassing us doctors to a whole new level. Now the latest installment of this highly entertaining drama of the mental and emotional torture of the medical graduates.... 2014 November *WE still have Nbe announcing exams and sending admit cards with may be a weeks notice. *Add to it the innumerable glitches people are facing DURING the exam where their questions take so long to load that many were not even able to complete their exams, pictures that wouldnt open and rampant cheating in severy mismanaged centres and we have the disaster that is the AIPGME. *Ofcourse then theres the cherry on the cake of exams being deferred AT THE LAST MINUTE and the rescheduled dates being announced with a days notice! Not to mention agony for those whose exam is postponed considering all the cancellations and stress they have to go through and equally bad for those who are writing the exam considering the inequality they will face as sample sizes are reduced and questions might get leaked during all these days. So there we have it --- the updated and latest version of THE PLIGHT OF INDIAN MEDICAL GRADS Guys I know we can never change the system but please let us atleast make an effort to spread awareness about what is happening to the ----IGNORED and severely UNDERMINED MBBS GRADUATES of the country who have been STUCK IN THE LIMBO!
