Sinn Féin is completely opposed to water charges. Sinn Féin has stopped water charges in the North and will abolish them if in government after the next election. I cannot make our position any clearer than that. Parties of the left such as Sinn Féin and the Socialist party should be working together to rid the people of the unjust water charges, instead their leadership namely Joe Higgins and Ruth Coppinger try to blacken the name of Sinn Féin by claiming we werent against water charges. Anybody who is unclear about Sinn Féins position can read the document (click the link and download it). I repeat and make it loud and clear, Sinn Féin stopped water charges in the North and Sinn Féin will abolish water charges in the South ! Well done to Paul Donnelly for standing up to Joe and Ruth and their disgraceful use of a public meeting to slate Sinn Féin, the left should be united not taking swipes at eachother !
