Sitting here at my computer and outside the window, something catches my eye. Its a chipmunk...doing a high wire walk down the line holding up the bird feeder. I should be upset to see him scarfing up all the seed....but when I realize how hard it is for him to get them...he should be rewarded with them. He has to climb up the tree about 12 feet away from the feeder...jump on the roof from a tiny, thin branch...walk over the roof, down an old Christmas tree light...jump on the line down to the top of the feeder, then jump down under the cover of it. Quite a little feat to be done just for a few sunflower seeds. Then to do it all backwards to get them to his burrow. Way to go Alvin...they are all yours.
