Sitting in a spacious hotel room the whole night, sleep came and went. My eyes are heavy my heart is soaked with pain. Im supposed to go to work and I will albeit heavily downhearted. I was willing not to mention a thing about the passing of my friend Sir G. Still, im not in the mood to speak about it safe for that we have been denied an opportunity to grow our democracy. If you did not know this man, you will never understand how serious this loss is and what it actually represents, its aftermaths and implications both on the social and political fronts. You will not suspect he was killed, if you didnt know him or if you have pressure of being in denial that evil is what has possessed our being and controls those who weild power. Now since they have controlled what time we sleep, how much beer we drink, they have assumed Gods duties of deciding how, when we will die and where! It is alleged he was alone in the car at the fateful moment, I agree. I refuse to believe the car actually indulge in a natural accident. And please dont tell me about paul walker, I dont know him. Mr Walker had no relationship with the countrys power relations nor had he wronged the DIS. Why not talk about Mr Tembo, who was shot and slayed with an ex after testifying against the DIS chief. We will all come to reckon the existence of hate and intolerance when its consequences encroaches our being. And if you are sitting with untempered comfort and glee as though eternally enjoined with the evil regime you have no locus standi on this. Dont even read this post. Its for those who have said and continue to condemn evil and wrongdoing engulfing the state. In the past mention was made of a hit list and beneficiaries of the corrupt regime regarded it ridiculous. And before critics could wage their cynical criticism BNF presidents house was broken into. For us who know and appreciate our positions in society would not treat such with derision, lest we abdicate our responsibility to be cautious. Lest we abdicate our responsibility to teach unsuspecting persons and those who sit with sheer ignorance of the fact that Botswana has changed miserably. We live in Botswana of tempered freedom and though we owe our existntance to a demi god. They temper with our freedom, tap our phones, steal our money and kill our leaders! Times is hard!
