Sixteen years ago today, was the first out of body experience I had. My spiritual birth if you will, came from being with my mom during her transition from this life into the great unknown. Ill never forget the feeling of the blankets over her feet that held onto as she was taking her last breath... And the strange awareness that I was looking at the back of my head. I was looking around the room at my family members breaking into tears, feeling weightless like a balloon until I was floating on the ceiling. I remember looking at my body, which was at the feet of my mom. I slowly floated back into my body the same way I left, through the top of my head. As soon as my physical awareness came back to me, I felt a hand on my right shoulder anchoring me into my body, and all the emotions hit me at once. I turned around thinking it was my dad who was holding onto me, but no one was beside me, and my dad was holding my sister. I didnt know exactly what happened at first, but the feeling of weightlessness and total serenity for those few moments I was out of my body put my mind at ease about what was happening to my mom and that consciousness extends beyond our physical forms. I would be forever changed in so many different ways from that moment on, but Ive never lost sight of what a beautiful gift my mother was to me in life, and in death. I love you Mom. Youve always been my inspiration, and the source of my physical birth, and spiritual birth. -your little man
