“Sleds, Sleighs, and Snow Days” is a Grade 3 piece for concert band with a duration of about 3:00. Sleds, Sleighs, and Snow Days percussion instruments include timpani, bells, xylophone, snare drum, bass drum, crash cymbals, suspended cymbal, sleigh bells, triangle, and tambourine. This piece depicts the muffled quietness and clarity of sounds in a snowfall, the air’s crispness, the excitement of the day’s reprieve from school, and vigorously playing all day in the snow.
