Slow progress but God has most definitely answered the many - TopicsExpress

Slow progress but God has most definitely answered the many prayers for my mom. Last Thursday her valve replacement should have taken four hours. The nurse and surgeon were reassuring us she will feel like a new person and she will be better than what she went in as. Then we went to the surgery waiting area. Every hour we got updates. Half way through the four hours we got a update that the valve was not working for her. My stomach began to turn. The next update we got is that she was critical and they would have to open her all the way up (exactly what we wanted to avoid). They said her blood pressure was dropping. We were devastated and praying hard. It turned into a 8hr surgery. They finally called my family back and the surgeon wouldnt look at us in the face. He basically said during tr time the first valve failed her heart decompressed and blood pressure dropped really low. They were convinced there was brain damage. The next few days mom acted erratically and had to be sedated. The surgeons were shocked she made it through the night and kept telling us her behaviors were concerning of brain damage. Our hearts were broke and we just took it to God. Praying for a miracle. They did a CT scan and a EEG. Both came back ok. Today was a miracle (all God). She squeezed my hand so hard when I asked her to and moved her feet. She (through head shakes and minimal reading of lips) said she was mad at me. After a hour of yes or no questions it found out it was because I wouldnt give her a drink. Her eyes follow me all over the room and she said she was ready to get up today. God is good and he has brought her through something the surgeons didnt think shed come through. Prayer works. Please keep the prayers coming. This will be a long road for her.
