Smart phones and its friends do allow us to live with convenience. Lets forget the sick buying habits first. The electronic devices will malfunction eventually and the disposal of broken devices and purchase of new ones are inevitable, so is the damage to the environment (the treatment of dumped electronic devices is another concern). With the unimaginably rapid development of technology, cloning and artificial organs are made possible. Perhaps one day we make artificial minerals, metals and such (still have to think about the raw materials for making artificial things) to make iPhone. You cant make Apple and Samsung from producing new phones, you cant stop 7 billion people from enjoying the advancement of technology, you dont have a time machine to go back to stone age (suppose travel back in time works while travelling to the future is somehow not feasible?). When will/can we stop harming the Earth? On the day after Doomsday.
