Snippet of a conversation today: AE: The owner wants to add this wording in to the spot. Can I write it up to start Saturday (today being Thursday afternoon). Yours Truly: I dont even know for sure who voiced this. I had to send out of market asking other production directors to find me people to fit this. IF I can track down the guy who found them for me today, it will probably be tomorrow when talent is available. We have to allow for a 24 hour return from the talent, so Monday would be the most probable date for me getting the voice work. AE: So, I can start it on Monday? (Yes, this is verbatim, he actually immediately asked me that knowing logs are put in Friday afternoon.) YT: Did the client even read the script before you had me produce this? AE: Of course not. (Again, verbatim. I cant believe he ponied that fact up.) YT: No approval and you had me produce it not knowing if he even liked the script? Thats when I went into a bit of a rant and cant remember what was said so well. Hulk smash.
