Snowfall on Upper Reaches, Winter-like Weather in Kashmir:- Winter-like weather conditions prevailed in the Kashmir valley, where fresh snowfall was recorded on upper reaches and plains experienced heavy rains resulting in considerable drop in the temperature. Light rain or thunder showers would occur at a few places over Jammu and Kashmir during the next 24 hours, a Met department spokesman said here this afternoon. He said there would be no large change in the weather conditions during subsequent two days. He said because of 15.7 mm rainfall during the past 24 hours in the summer capital, Srinagar, there was considerable drop in the maximum temperature yesterday. “We recorded 20.3 degrees maximum temperature in Srinagar which was eight degrees below normal,” he said. However, the minimum temperature was three degrees above normal, he said. He said the sky would be partly cloudy tomorrow, when the maximum and minimum temperatures will be near normal.
