So- to end our trip we decided to kayak to the Sand bar which was supposedly not too far. I KNOW the hotel lady said go to the right but James Reyes insisted it was to the left. So to the left we went. The waves picked up, the wind howled, the sun never showed itself. We gave up on the illusive sandbar and made a cement buoy thing our destination goal. After two hours of exhausting upper body movement, soaked to the core, with permanent prune fingers, we made it back only to see some smiling peppy tourists with their guide pushing their kayaks into the water. Did you make it to the sand bar? the tour guide jauntily asks us. Actually no, we heading to an island sticking up in the water. You mean China Mans Hat? the tour guide gingerly suggests with one eye brow raised. Um...yes? we replied. Oh- yeah, we dont recommend that. The current and waves are really rough out there. Yeah...we know that now. Lol. This must be how you spartan/tough muddier people feel at the end.
