So Apple is expected to announce the purchase of Beats by Dr Dre any day now, with sources saying the sum of $3.2 billion USD was paid for the Headphone maker. This means Apple will also acquire the Beats Music service, a feature that for a subscription fee allows unlimited music streaming. Beats Music is currently only available in the USA but will be coming to Australia very shortly, as Beats has negotiated a contract with Telstra to offer the service on plans. Itll be interesting to see what Apple does with the headphone maker, or if they were simply after the rights to all those songs Beats Music had already, or were they perhaps more interested in Beats CEO Jimmy Iovine, a cool but revolutionary entrepreneur who pioneered the music streaming industry.
