So..... Birthday recap: had to get up at 6am for work; walked 8.1 miles touring resorts today; didnt get the chance to go to Mickeys Not-So-Scary-Halloween-Party because the were sold out; no cake in any form, no presents, no family. When worded this way it sounds miserable. However: Sunrises in Florida are really beautiful which I miss every morning, so 6am wasnt so unfortunate; some of that 8.1 miles walked today was spent in a 5-story indoor Disney interactive theme park, which is just a fancy way to say I played skeeball and pac man and raced virtual motorcycles, and shot virtual dinosaurs, and played air hockey; while I really wanted to go to the Halloween party, Im super exhausted and dont know how much I wouldve liked walking another 5 miles today, so I think Ill try to go Friday; my ass could do without the cake, and I did receive a package from home and a card from my dad yesterday, and Im thankful I opened them yesterday, as I was in tears afterwards. I got to hear all their wonderful voices today. Theres no positive way to spin that I miss my family dearly, especially today; but they all support me so much its hard to be sad when I have so many people in my corner, cheering me on. The friends I am making here did enough for me today to make me feel special, and all though its a far cry from what a normal birthday is like for me, I cant help but feel so freaking blessed. So thank you to those who took the time out of their day to make me feel like I havent been forgotten; you have no idea how much it meant to me. #birthdayrambling #exhausted #thankyou
