So I accidentally bumped into a woman at the store and she turned around and started cussing me out. Im rarely at a loss for words, but I had no idea how to respond. I wanted to yell back at her for being rude, but we have life and death in the power of our tongue. I quickly asked myself how would that bring life to her if I lashed back out in anger towards her? So I was sucking it up and was planning on just walking away but somehow someway my mouth took over and I said, I love you. She started yelling at me louder saying, You dont know me. You dont love me. I said, I dont know you personally, but Jesus knows you and Hes inside of me and He loves you like a ridiculously big amount and so do I. She broke down bawling crying and started to tell me her life story of drug abuse and hatred and have never felt loved in her entire life. We talked for an hour and prayed. Then we hugged for a good whole minute in the middle of target. Like a big ole bear hug, none of that side hug stuff. I learned a valuable lesson tonight, regardless of how badly I wanted to sock her a new one in the beginning, love trumps all. She was one of the most precious souls that Ive had the pleasure of meeting, but I would never have known that until we got to know each other. You never know what a person has been through in their life or is going through, and rising up in anger wont solve anything, only love will. Love is everything. Everything. People are the most precious gift in the world. The most unloveable people are the ones who need love the most. And if we dont love them, who will? Love can change a heart in an instant. Love can set people free. Love brings life to the hopeless. And loving especially when you dont want to in that moment can set someone completely free from their past because one touch of the love of Jesus heals the wounds of the broken hearted. That sweet woman really blessed my heart tonight, and she will never really know that she was actually the one to teach me and impact me in a way that no one has before.
