So I am taking a horse to a Connected Riding clinic for two days - TopicsExpress

So I am taking a horse to a Connected Riding clinic for two days in November and I am conflicted as to which horse to bring. My hubbys horse would benefit from it but hes his horse and not my first pick to ride generally. My old horse would benefit from it but hes recovering from an injury and, from an economic standpoint, it would make more sense to take a younger horse with more years of potential ahead of him. Option 1— The more bullheaded of the two and the older; needs far more work but I have invested the most time in already. Spent only a small portion of his life under saddle. Willful, cheeky, and naughty at times. Huge heart and will give until he drops. Does not enjoy arena work but benefits greatly. Have started bridleless work. Hates yielding to pressure but knows whats being asked of him. Have more miles on him personally but he is still the greener horse and much more likely to embarrass me, which, I mean, oh well! Option 2— The younger gentleman, whose training I can take absolutely no credit for. Far more willing under saddle in the arena. Not quite as athletic as the first choice but I dont think hes ever been pushed as far. I do need to work through some of his issues with giving the vet hell but not sure this is the best way to address that. I havent been riding him as long but have yet to find a big gap in his training. Generally has a bigger brain and much better mannered. I havent tried any bridleless work but I have a feeling hed take to it quickly. Far less likely to give me any grief in an arena setting.. or anywhere. Plus a more lovely (if less efficient) mover than Option 1 though not quite as physically correct. I probably wont get this chance again.. Under the (sometimes stupid) assumption that both horses are sound with well-fitting tack, who would you take?
