So I announced it a day too early: today is my grandmas actual 100th birthday and it turns out theres a nice story to this photo. My dad was born in July 1945, shortly before the end of WW2. Istanbul did ok during the war because Turkey was neutral but it was impossible to find any film, which was frustrating for my grandad Arnold who was an avid photographer and couldnt take any photos of his first son. When he finally got some film my dad was 8 months old and this is the very first photo of him. I didnt know this when I posted it but when I showed my grandma how popular she is on fb she told me this story.
