So I dont normally write political posts, but its my first about the Yes vote yet so I think thats acceptable! Call it the Braveheart Complex if you like, but I cant help but think this about independence: centuries ago, the Scottish people fought and died so that this country could be independent. Even today, people across the world are still fighting and dying for their country to be independent. Theyre not supporting their cause so that their political leader can make the changes he or she wants to make - theyre fighting for their cause because they themselves, and the other millions in their population, are proud of their country and want to work for change together. We are fortunate, in this case, to not have to go out and physically fight for our independence, but to merely tick a square on a piece of paper to gain this opportunity. To reject the opportunity for our own independence, I find fairly embarrassing. Im willing to put my faith in those who want to enforce change, because I believe it can be done. Sure it might take a while, but as the saying goes - Rome wasnt built in a day. This is just my opinion, take it or leave it, but Im not looking for a debate in the comments feed! #IndyRef
