So I feel like I need to say this AGAIN. Im not in a race to be the FIRST and ONE and ONLY. Im doing what makes my heart sing. What makes my heart sing is following those desires. I have been a performer for 10 years now and had lots of MEAN and hateful things to deal with. I do not like it. I dont condone it. There were times when I almost gave up becausse of that crap. It is hurtful and Ive read some mean things on facebook posts recently in the last two months that can in NO way be about me, but somehow STILL manage to hurt my feelings. It goes to show the power of your words. I dont compete with any one. Be it burlesque performer or mermaid. Ive stepped away from facebook at times because of crap like that. So I go about doing my thing, jump on to post and share what Ive been up to on facebook and stumble across more hurtful stuff. Im not trying to be mermaid of the month, or of the year. Im just trying to do what makes my heart sing. My mermaid motives are animal rights and water conservation. Im NOT the only one who does that. My burlesque motives are to bring self confidence to others. Even to myself as well as let out creative ideas. Please dont smash down other people for wanting to do similar things. Mermaids have been around for a long time. So have burlesque performers. We should help each other out. Not squish each other. BE NICE!
