So I gotta say Im kinda meh on this new Aphex Twin album. Its not horrible or anything, but it doesnt bring anything really new to the party. It sounds pretty much like a fairly indifferent gathering of tracks that could have been recorded at any time during the last 15-20 years. With the promise of more new releases to come in the near future, Im hoping this is just a warmup act and hes saving something more focused for later. The problem with being an innovator is always where to go next. Your own history is the worst thing to compete against.
