Went to an appt at a new doctors office a few minutes ago, as my previous doctor retired. I walk up to the receptionist desk, say my name, at which point the receptionist raises her hand, in a claw-like fashion, and hisses at me. Stunned, I say, Excuse me? She says, Did you win this weekend? I realize I am wearing a SEMINOLES shirt. I say, Yes, of course we did (moron)! She says, laughing, Oh, gosh, I guess this is not the way to treat a new patient (you think??) and gives me a clipboard of paperwork to fill out. Im still somewhat stunned by the warm welcome. First requested entry on the form: social security number. Which I dont provide to anyone, after having had my identity stolen before. I tell her I will pay my co-pay and give her my insurance billing info. Not enough, she says. That if I was hospitalized, I would have to provide my SSN. I tell her, Ill deal with that if the time comes, but Im here for a checkup today! I decide these Seminole-haters are not worth the hassle, and I walked out. Sorry I wasted my time and gas!
