So I have been called a bit of a FREAK about the need for riders to wear helmets when riding...Today during a training session with STORM... a FREAK accident happened. I was preparing to weight the saddle for the first time....STORM goosed and I landed clear of him, but in the snow landed on my BUTT on the ground...with no malice, and a consequence of him moving off the horse struck me in my right cheekbone with his hind limb... It bloodied my nose and this is the result to my face...had I not been wearing a helmet...who knows what would have happened...the other picture shows me resuming the training and the horse standing quietly! Yeah STORM! He was calm and cooperative when we quit for the day. WEAR HELMETS FOLKS...look what happened with just a slight brush!
