So, I have spent the last two days in Charleston re-doing allergy - TopicsExpress

So, I have spent the last two days in Charleston re-doing allergy testing....I guess it was time, the last time I went through the total over haul was 14 years ago. It was in fact an interesting experience and I look forward to my new serum. While I was their I met some interesting people. One particular person stood out from the beginning. She works for the CDC in Atlanta and was struggling with food allergies like myself. She was being tested for Carrageenan This is used in the food industry for its thickening, gelling, and stabilizing properties. This comes from red edible seaweed. It must be healthy? Not always the case....I watched as this young girl was tested....she was of a small petite build, reminded me of me when I was in my 20s. By the time the Carrageenan entered her system we watched her stiffen up and then the big reaction happened....this young girl looked like she was 6 months pregnant! She was of course extremely miserable! Thankfully she was given a neutralizing dosage and within 10 minutes she was back to normal. It was amazing...we sat their in awe as she literally deflated. Then the conversation went on about this Healthy food additive. She told us that they inject it into lab rats to give them muscle pain and aches in order to test new medicines for arthritis and other joint medications. Seriously! If it causes joint pain and other issues in lab rats....is it really good for us! According to the FDA it is. I only mention this for all my friends who suffer from Fybromialgia (sp) and other joint issues....take a look at your diet....is their any Carrageenan in it? It might be worth removing from your diet to see if it is a factor for some of your aches and pains. What have you got to loose? Hopefully, some aches and pains.
