So I have stayed out of the argument about Ferguson but I feel that now I have researched and read enough to enter the debate. I feel that if anyone truly believes the riots are about this one isolated incident they have forgotten April 25th 1992. I can only see similarities in the 2 riots. (Though there are some glaring differences) A largely black city with crime and gang issues is systematically pushed to the brink by law enforcement finally has enough and decides to push back. ( the difference between the two riots being that the LA cops were absolutely in the wrong and in the Ferguson the officer seems to have acted while not wisely within his rights.) One bad cop soils the whole force. We as Americans can no longer tolerate police brutality and corruption. If the police force in Ferguson had bothered to make a connection with the community and to be seen as protectors and not aggressors I cannot believe these riots would be happening. All of that said burning down your own neighborhood because the cops are dicks and justice is distant is just stupid and MLK would kick us all in the dick for being so asinine.
