So, I left Maui a day late due to Hurricane Ana, then got on the Red Eye to LAX to find out that AA had upgraded me to a seat with more leg room - but unfortunately only one sleepless seat, while the guy on seat #22G that I had originally reserved for the flight had all 3 seats for himself, sleeping soundly all the way. After 5 hours at LAX I continued to Dallas where I waited around another 5 hours before my connecting flight was supposed to bring me to Madrid. The 5 hours turned into 6.5 because of an unserviceable plane and I missed my connection to Malaga (and my lift to Tarifa with Christoph Jost...). So here I am at the Madrid airport where Iberia wont let me into their lounge because I have AA frequent flyer status but not Iberia...ohhh, after 2 nights without sleep those beds in there look so good! But well, instead I just went to get my free 20 Euro lunch (thanks AA) at the place that only sells food you dont really want to eat (but the nice place doesnt accept the food voucher of course) and almost just swallowed a huge fish bone that was somehow hidden in a fish fillet, hu? I think its time to go to the nice restaurant, spend the next 5 hours drinking and eating delicious things and to then take a good nap on the backseat while Mario Steinbuch (who will now drive 3 hours round trip to pick me up! Thank you so much Mario !) drives me to the hotel in Tarifa. Already dreaming about a real bed!
