So. I love running. Im actually THAT person you see who smiles while running. Yesterday I had a first happen and I about laughed so hard I couldnt breathe. Just finished up a beautiful week on the SC coast this past Saturday. Before I left for the drive back home from the beach I put a few items in the clothes washer. As we were leaving I remembered last minute that they were there so I ran back and got them!!! Yesterday morning, back home, grabbed a pair of running shorts, jog bra and headed out for a hot, humid 6 mile run. Im joyfully running, feeling good, strong, happy. When I hit a red light so I pull to a stop at a major Charlotte intersection. Morning commuters are driving by, smiling...feels like more are giving me a gander than is normally the case...which when you get to be my age...well...how shall I say it...oh yeah Im just fine wit dat! The lights getting ready to change and Im doing a quick readjust to my running shorts, take a look down to fix the waist band when I see soap bubbles. Hundreds of them streaming out of my shorts!!! They are bubbling everywhere...into my shoes, down my legs and out the top of my shorts!!! I mean freakin everywhere! How embarrassing and funny and awesome and hilarious and humbling and okay now I understand why folks were smiling and slowing down. (I would have to!!). I started laughing so hard...like I said... I could barely breathe Apparently the shorts hadnt hit the rinse cycle and well...my run on this hot and humid Southern morning did the job. I love running for lots of reasons but I think what I love most about it...is the way it just sorta brings all of us who are crazy enough to do it...to a shared weird and wonderful oh yeah I get that kind of kinship and understanding. At least thats what Im hoping for this morning. Lol. Anyway...good mornin yall!
