So I met a few brand new friends at the Palisades Mall last - TopicsExpress

So I met a few brand new friends at the Palisades Mall last evening. One was Lynn Teger and we commenced getting signatures for an Anti Common Core ballot line to be placed for November so the masses can easily see who wants to abolish the nefarious plot by those who want to eat out children for dinner. Predictably we got kicked out of the mall (quasi public malls are a battle for another day) but we got an hours worth of signatures. We conveyed ourselves to the Shop Rite entrances across the Highway and got more signatures. Highlight conversations- black young teacher teaching in the Bronx enthusiastically signs saying some of her kids are so nervous before the many absurd tests that they cry or even throw up. This as she signed happily on a petition with names like Astorino. She inquired if we were paid by the union - I laughed and said we are parents - she said parents! Thank you and walked off while uttering other salutations to her car. Another sad young white teacher came to the grocery store with her dad. I approached Dad - have you heard of what Common Core is doing to children, kind sir. Yes I have -says he -but I am interested to see what my daughter who is a teacher might say to you. Young lady - have you, as a teacher, heard of common core? Yes I have -she says - but I am not tenured and I am afraid for my job - and she bowed her head and pushed her cart on. An hour later when they emerged I saluted- Keep up the good work. They seemed afraid of eye contact and pressed their cart on.
