So I met an amazing person today, a doctor from North India. I had on a traditional Marine Corps shirt and a cross necklace made out of a dog tag. We talked for a few minutes and then he asked if I knew why he wore his turban. After answering he said more specifically its a sign of spiritual strength they dont cut their beard or hair ,so its a way to still look tidy by tucking it all away. He then told me of the history of his belief system as a Sikh. First and foremost all people are created equal. There is not an attempt to change someones beliefs, if youre Christian be a good Christian, Muslim be a good Muslim etc etc. He said my friend, service to others, love and compassion, like you said is the answer religion just muddies the waters. We talked in depth about Sikhs military history in defending against the global money and eventually the crown. All men are either in military or farmers. He mentioned anyone is invited to their temple to pray, they feed anyone 3 times a day there. My whole point of posting this is to highlight how much we have in common, as far as people taking care of people, service to country and each other. Im inspired by people like this daily and with a collective focus I see the potential of just fixing things here and globally. No need for war, hunger, killing the planet, and money to control things. As Jesus, Guru Nanak, and Bob Marley said, one love..
