So I was on a quest when I learned about metal punties for pulling - TopicsExpress

So I was on a quest when I learned about metal punties for pulling milli. I cant stand using 20mm handles and I wanted a reuseable alternative that would last and would not be insanely expensive. I looked at a number of tool makers sites, talked to local machinists and finally settled on a company in Seattle called Spiral Arts. I spoke with Tom and Fred there ( spiralarts/products/pc/Weighted-Punties-c38.htm ) and both made the design process beyond effortless. The finished product is a pair of 18 metal punties. The head is 1.5 in diameter and made of stainless steel. The shaft is 3/4 in diameter and carbon steel tubing to shave weight off the punty. There is a solidt steel plug at the end where they have welded two 1/2 rings so that I can pull vertically from a hook ot horizontally from a bench mounted bolt. They clearly take a lot of pride in their tools and signed both pieces which I found pretty cool. The provide a 6 month warranty against any defects, so that is awesome, although they seem to be apocalypse proof. They each weigh 1 pound 7.5 ounces so the weight is negligible. I am hoping to give them a test run tomorrow or Thursday and I will be sure to post the results in this thread as well so those of you interested can follow. All this for $140 a pair. That included my shipping. What a great deal, cool people and quality tool. Pre use, I am so happy with my purchase and I cant wait to give them a try this week.
