So I was sitting here, crying again, upset because she is not here, lost because I need to talk something over with her, mad because not here is permanent and not temporary, I got up and went to the window. In that moment, as I was so upset and asking why, tears streaming down my face, trying to make sense of it all (without any success), asking for a sign, asking for anything from her to let me know it is okay..... a lone lightning bug caught my eye. A single solitary, peaceful lightning bug blinking in the yard and then disappearing up into the trees. In that moment, I KNEW without any doubt that she was okay, that all is well now, that her spirit and soul are still with me. She is okay, she is still here, she is and always will be around just not in the way that I am used to. In that moment, a random bug that is not supposed to be here, made it easier to be. My friend is okay, and at peace.
