So, I went and fetched my brand new XT660Z today and managed about 100km on it before the day ended. So far have not done more than 5000rpm or 100km/h. Thought it should get to ease into life before I put som strain on the engine. A few questions that my mind raised and I hope you guys might help me answer: -How far should I drive it before it can be considered broken in? -What is your regular rpm for just cruising/regular driving? I thought the engine would allow me to go pretty low before complaining, but when it gets below 2000rpm it gets crancky. -Should I get used to the backfiring from the engine when engine braking or is that something to have a closer look at sooner or later? My old one very seldom did it and it was a fairly old bike. Some of these questions might seem trivial to some of you, but this is my third motorcycle and my first brand new vehicle. My first was a Kawasaki GPZ550 -82 and the second a Honda CB900F -80, so this is some new age rocket science to me. Appreciate almost all input and will be greatful for answers// Me
