So Im realizing I shoulda learned Spanish, and surprisingly, German seems to be the most widely spoken, though French is top 3rd for NC....some of these are really surprising to me, like the Korean in Georgia and Virginia...Polish, and Arabic. Its not surprising that Chinese is highest in NY, as they didnt specify which Chinese language, so they are probably lumping all of them together....both Cantonese and Mandarin speakers as well as others. mentalfloss/article/56714/most-commonly-spoken-language-each-state-besides-english-and-spanish
