So, Im sitting at the platform at flagstaff station, when two women wearing hijabs sit down next to me... Im reading some news etc. on my phone... As they get up to get the next train they offer me a flower and say theyre offering it to me for the tragic loss of life in our community this morning (meaning Sydney). Im kinda speechless. What are THEY apologising for? The event in Sydney, which appears to have been carried out by a deranged man who had many criminal charges against him, including being an accessory to the murder of his own ex-wife, and writing horrible letters to the families of deceased Aussie soldiers who fought in the middle east, just happened to be Muslim (whose particular religion had been slaughtered by ISIS). Are they apologising for this crackpot? Or because he happens to be Muslim? Or because the media has been blaming ISIS, or Islamic Death Cults, or whatever? Two Muslim women shouldnt have to feel the need to apologize for a crazy crack pot who you just happens to be Muslim. #illridewithyou or perhaps it should be #letsridetogether
