So Im sorry I havent updated recently. Its been kind of an awful weekend. I was admitted to UCSF after scans in the ER showed an obstruction in my intestine. Plus potassium deficiency and mild dehydration. So that explains the puking, bile, and pain. Since I had no other indications of internal bleeding, they think the puking blood was just because I ripped up my stomach or lower esophagus from throwing up too much. The good news is that I wont need surgery, except in the very strange, very unlikely case of the obstruction growing instead of going away (or, you know, some other random body part decides to break down). The bad news is that I have to stay in the hospital until the obstruction goes away. AND Im not allowed to eat or drink until then! NOT FUN. However, UCSF continues to be a great hospital, and Ive had absolutely wonderful nurses. But I would really like to go home, and unfortunately, they have no idea when that will be. :(
