So Im writing this story about seeing yourself from the inside, and I did some reading. It turned out that the first successful esophagoscopy, inserting a camera inside a mans mouth down to this esophagus, was performed in the 1860s by a German physician who collaborated with a sword-swallower. I read this from the notes of D. Graham Burnett who writes for Cabinet magazine. And then there was a rumor concerning one Dr. Fritz Lang who had a patient swallow a camera with a small electric lamp and a wound photographic film 20 inches long. How cool would that be if it were true -- from the wild imagination of the man who made the groundbreaking Metropolis! Well, it turned out to be true; but it was another Fritz Lang. And the last name is Lange, with an e. Happened in 1898, the guy inserted a waterproof micro-camera on a string, the worlds first ingestible camera.
