So Ive actually had this same thing happen to me, aside from getting shot at the end, but a few years so I put my parents in a position where they too were forced to report me to the police, not because they dont like me or wanted to see me get in terrible, on the contrary the reason they did what they did was to keep me and others around me safe.I was undoubtedly intoxicated at the time abd definitely did not have a license.when the rookie cop finally caught up with me,i was parked with the ignition off at Redmond town center, yet the dumbass cop still felt the need not only to draw his weapon-butt he literally pointed it at my face with his shaky ass finger on the trigger as he told me to keep my hands on the wheel abd not move.now this wasnt the first or last time l had to deal with cops, but regardless of the situation, the one thing that has rang true through each abd every one of those experiences is that regardless of what I did to start it, Ifthe situation escalates to the point where the cops draw on me, it then becomes partially my responsibility..I am in no way supporting the way the police handled this situation, but Ive been drawn on multiple times without ever once being shot...its all about how u react, sad but super preventable
