So Ive been wondering about the whole high altitude training masks. Im taking an Exercise Physiology course, and this is from the textbook, on artificial altitude training: No evidence supports the idea that brief periods (1-2 h per day) of breathing hypoxic gases or hypobaric mixtures induce even a partial adaptation similar to that observed at altitude... So yall out there wearing your bane masks for a workout....maybe want to think about that. (Kenney, W., Wilmore, J., & Costill, D. (2012). Physiology of Sport & Exercise, 5th ed.) It does go on to say, that people who sleep in hypoxic gas mixtures or live in them for several hours a day, DO tend to see a difference. So maybe sleep in your bane mask?
