So Ive really struggled with whether or not to make this post... So many have strong opinions on what is social networking acceptable these days as well as opinions on people making certain posts just for attention... I assure you, this is not that. But due to the fact that this is breast cancer awareness month, I cant think of any reason not to share this!!! Go get those ta-tas squeezed!!! When Alton was about 6 months old I found a rather large lump on my left breast. My Doc immediately sent me for an ultrasound because I was breastfeeding at the time. Long story short (although it was not painful in anyway, it was determined it was most likely a clogged duct ((it was half black/half gray on the sono)) it was most likely nothing and we monitored it for the next year and it went away!!!! So as you can understand Im sure, since then (family history and my own mom had a lump removed when I was younger) Ive been a bit OCD about giving myself an exam once a month! I dont always remember, but I try to on the first day of every month to make it easier! Well, last week on the first, true to form I did! And I found a new lump. On the same breast, near the same area... But definitley not the same one. And of course I havent breast fed for over a year! Ive been to my Doc, and while she is confident its just one of those fibro somethings (which are very common) we are going to monitor it for 6 weeks then go from there! With all this said! My point is just to encourage you to get checked if you never have been, or check yourself! And being breast cancer awareness month, I think there are even some free mammograms going on around here!!! So go get em squeezed!!!!
