So Ray Rice knocks out his wife on video (deplorable). Ravens fire him (understandable). But Rice was due to earn between 10 and 13 million dollars over the next three years of his contract - half of which Janay Rice would have been entitled to if she simply divorced him. So by firing Rice, they effectively just took between 5 and 6.5 million dollars out of the victims pocket...and terminating him does what to improve her situation? So the NFL looks like it did the right thing but they hurt the victim as much as the perpetrator in the process. Good work.
