So a customer had a amp custom built, but it kept blowing pills. I got it here and at first couldnt figure out why. The circuit tested ok, so why was it popping pills??? Upon further investigation I noticed it was very rough under a few pills. Well you can imagine my surprise when I pulled up the board and found this. It was a heat sink from something using TO3 transistors and they filled in the holes with solder then used a grinder to grind it Flat What a way to get your moneys worth. Whats even worse you might ask? This poor excuse for a heat sink had 32pills mounted to it. I have a sneaking suspicion this might have caused an overheating problem that was making the pills pop..... Maybe... Possibly...... Could be..... But Im not sure. Maybe this is some new top secret way of cooling. Or maybe its just a way of screwing the customer. Shameful thing.
