So, a few months ago bought my daughter a new laptop from Dell, with 1 year on site warranty. There is obviously a screw rattling around inside, so I phoned them (at their Indian Call Centre). Can You send us a Photo What - of a screw rattling around inside my computer OK - let me talk to my supervisor On Hold............... OK - can you get a screwdriver and take the back off Err - no - if I break something I void the warranty. It has 1 year on site warranty. Can you send an engineer OK - let me talk to my supervisor On Hold......... OK - Ill book it in for a return to our depot But it has 1 year on site warranty OK - Let me talk to my supervisor Do you want me to talk to your supervisor Yes - Ill put you through On Hold................... Still On Hold....................... Hello sir - How is your day Well, not very well after talking to your technician Im sorry sir - we would like you to send the computer to our depot But I paid for onsite warranty Yes sir you did, but with more complex issues like this, we like our depot to have a look at it But it just has a screw loose (not the only one by now). Can you send an engineer Yes, of course. We just wanted to give you the option of sending it back to us. Ill put you back on to the technician who took your call On Hold......... Still On Hold............... OK Sir, we will have an engineer out to you Thursday. Good Day By then I had lost the will to point out that it is meant to be next day onsite warranty, not the day after, and decided just to go with the flow. I reckon I need to put that down as a few calories burnt today!!
