So, after lots of thought, its now time to cast my vote for the top 100 of the year. Something even though has different opinions and much controversy surrounding it, is important to me and is still very important to people within the industry. My top 5 are as follows; #1 Armin van Buuren #2 Paul Van Dyk #3 Adam Ellis #4 Allen & Envy #5 STANDERWICK Armin will usually have my top spot, purely due to his leadership and figure head within the scene. Armin only is truly unique and an amazing show live. His ASOT Radio show, now approaching its 14th year, which is unmissable. Also his support of up and coming producers and labels never goes unnoticed . I feel he has also done his best to try and accommodate for the vast majority of tastes being the most popular DJ in the scene. Bottom line is that you will never please everybody. PVD for the most amazing year, especially his set at Electric Brixton last December which EA were lucky enough to be a part of and his outstanding sets at Cream in Ibiza this Summer mainly swayed my decision here. Cant wait to see him play at Godskitchen and Remedy later this year. My last 3 choices are for the artists who I feel have really broken through in the last year. Adam Ellis, just wow, I dont think i havent brought one of his tunes or remixes this year as his work is constantly exceptional. We are privileged to have Adam playing for us at our SW4 After party next week! Hes constantly on form and he is only gonna get bigger in my opinion. Allen & Envy - Not only do they have one of the most distinctive sounds in uplifting trance but are also the nicest, most genuine guys too who really appreciate their fans and people within the industry. That just leaves Standerwick - An uplifting genius both in his remixes and productions and even though he looks like a bouncer in many of the photos, hes one of the nicest, kind hearted artists ive ever had the privilege of knowing. There is so must still to come from him as an artist I think and also keep your eyes peeled for a very special appearance by him where he will be doing something completely unique in October later this year. There are of course many more who id love to list and compliment, but only 5 can be chosen. Much respect to many of the artists, DJs, Managers and promoters within the scene on behalf of myself and Elevation Audio. Its been an exceptional year for Trance :-)
