So, as some of you may have noticed, its been a while since Ive posted about my weight loss. The main reason for that was that I spent 12 days at church camp. I was not able to keep up my walking, as I had too much going on every day. I did do quite a bit of walking around the campgrounds, in my day to day activities, but was not able to make the concentrated effort to walk two miles at a time. Anyway, when I got home, to no surprise on my part, I had gained 1.5 pounds. To be honest, I was not that disappointed about that, as I was afraid it would be higher than that. So, this week, even though Ive been sick with sinus junk, I still put forth a major effort to lose the weight I gained. And, today... Ive lost that 1.5 pounds, plus another .8 pounds! Ive now lost a total of 71.3 pounds! Praise The Lord! I learned a few things about this journey at camp: 1. The more tired I am, the less self control I have. By the end of camp, I was beyond exhausted. Way beyond. I dont know if it was my body needing more energy fuel or what, but the more tired I became, the more I craved food. Even then, I was a pretty good boy, as only one day did I go over my WW points. 2. Walking really is a major part of the reason for my weight loss. Even though most days I ate very healthy, I still gained a little. 3. As Ive said before, eating is very social for me. Being aware of that going into camp made it easier for me to curb the desire to eat just because every one else was eating. 4. I can work in the snack shop, as my family has done for years, and be around all sorts of junk food, and not eat it. In our little snack shop after church each night, we serve fries, hamburgers, cheeseburgers, hot dogs, nachos, chili and cheese on most anything you desire, ice cream, soda, iced coffee, soft pretzels, you name it. In all of camp, I didnt eat one hamburger, not one hot dog. I did eat a few fries, and two different days I had a drumstick, but overall, with the Lords help, I was very good in self control. 5. As we have for many years, on the last Friday of camp, my family made homemade alfredo for the entire camp, and we are not even the camp cooks! And, with The Lords help, I made it, served it, ate some grilled chicken for supper, and left the building without eating any alfredo. Wow! So, the journey continues! Ps: a year ago, I was wearing size 52 dress pants. During camp, Monica bought me a pair of size 42 dress pants. They fit!! Woohoo!
