So, at our great gorge-side evening repast, the sever messed up our order...some missed communication with regard to Janes order ODf lamb...my salmon was on the way...having worked a few years as a waiter in the 70s and 80s, I do understand the difficulties... I spoke with him in the alcove above the terrace and he did realize and admit his mistake...took an extra few minutes and the entrees were delicious. He apologized and had a complementary glass of white wine sent over (we were drinking the excellent local Chardonnay) and then two glasses of Frixonet sparkling for dessert... All was well.... I went down later to get an extra key...the large fob with the room number had cracked in my pocket at sometime during the day...and I asked for a replacement from the hotel duty manager.... While I waited, the waiter asked what my favorite Spanish finisher was.... Well, they had no Ponche Caballero (neither did the Alphonso XIII the other night....Pablo and I were incredulous and scoffed at the Ponche Punch (horrendous bebebilatory blasphemy) they brought us...we drank it but noticing our chagrin, compd them).... Anyway (I digress,...), the hotel manager brought me a snifter (large) of 25-year old Grand Reserva Carlos III brandy.... Good night, America!,, And Viva Espana... :)
