So at some point last night during the second half when they were beating the piss out of the Clippers I realized something: this years team is my favorite Atlanta Hawks squad ever. I grew up with and loved the Mookie/Mutumbo/Smitty/Laettner Hawks, but after years of suffering through Marvin Williams/Josh Smith and the frustrating (if sometimes effective) run an iso play for Joe offense, its so awesome to see a team that plays lockdown defense and whips the ball around the court, passing up good shots for great ones. I love all these players, from Pero to Dennis, Big Al to Kyle, Trillsap to Teague. If you havent seen these guys play yet stop sleeping on them, Atlanta. Theyre building something really great.
