So early this morning I was going through my news feed, and stumbled across a photo that made my heart just drop. This picture showed a group of people smiling holding the limp bloody corpse of a cat they had just decapitated with a knife. Holding the head like a trophy. Its haunting to even think about.. It hurt me really bad to see something so grousome and just... evil. It got me thinking. Murder is something we hear about on the news, & killing is just a tale of historical warfare /scary movies... until you see the blood of the innocent with your own eyes.. go cold. It carries a new reverence, a new disgust. seeing that image - I had to look away. But as wicked and vile as that is, its not just those men that are wicked, the heart of ALL men, myself included, is just filled with all kinds of evil, God sees all of it. He sees all of our abominations, evil thoughts, lusts, all our hatred, our sins. It makes me choke up realizing exactly how much He puts up with. how much I do wrong, and the rest of the world too... Hes so patient and merciful to lying, thieving, hateful, blasphemous, murderous, wicked people who just dont deserve any of it. Matter of fact we deserve nothing short of death, I include myself in that lot. But He loves us anyway So much so that he took our punishment for death, our cross to bear, and took it upon his own shoulders gladly, that through his sacrifice of HIMSELF, the price would be paid, and just as HE CONQUERED DEATH and rose again, we will also join Him in eternity - we who place our trust in Him. Hes not willing that any should perish, because He loves us. Think about that. God loves you. The All-mighty Creator of the universe, in all his glory, who breathed life into us at the foundation of the world, came down in the flesh to be spit on, hated and reviled, to be lifted up as the ultimate sacrifice to cover our sins once and for all. BECAUSE. HE. LOVES. US. That absolutely blows my mind that the All mighty God would ever care for me, so little, so insignificant, just a speck of dust in the wind, yet he knows me by name, he knows my heart, & he knows you and yours too, and he wants the very best for us. God is good. So even tho it breaks my heart to see what I saw, I cant even begin to imagine the horrors that our maker has seen, yet he still loves us and cares for us. If God has compassion for people like us, we should likewise reflect that compassion and love for those around us, however bad they may seem, To be that light in a darkened world Jesus said It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. Pray for these people
