So guys, Im back working at Bellevue (surprise, surprise), and was trying to find the login info for the PANAS study. While searching my e-mail, I found this gem from our good friend Jonah Wilkof: Hey guys, I know the program is over, but I think there were some issues with PANAS that needed clarifying. - It has come to my attention that many of you have not been entering your every thought and action in the notes section. It is crucial that we have an update of your progress every 2-3 minutes, so please do not forget this. - It is very important that you note why patients did not want to continue. For example, all of these emotions appear to be repetitive, this study is too damn long, this study is worse than the illness that brought me to the hospital, and PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD MAKE IT STOP would all be appropriate documentation for an opt-out. - We feel that only the English speaking patients deserve to be mercilessly tortured at this point. We are working on extending this clinical scourge to everyone, but until we can be sure that all patients will be maximally abused please do not use the translators phones. - We have around 600 entries at this point and are looking to reach about 10,000 by the end of the week. There are 6 four-hour shifts left, so that comes out to about 1,560-1,570 per shift. I know it sounds like a lot, but we can do it! These particulars are what keeps the research machine running, the devil is in the details people. Dont hesitate to ask me any questions, thanks for all your help! Jonah Wilkof
