So hear is the story... I was recently very angered and shocked by the outcome of a process i thought was going to be relatively straight forward - and that was, getting a sincere apology! During the Referendum i was giving my own person views/opinions (away from the charity) on certain aspects of the topic, mostly Welfare as thats extremely important to me. When the City Council Finance Chief popped up to have a debate, he was a no and i was yes, pretty straight forward. It was relatively mature, i.e. the debate etc until he made comments about my role as a charity chairman, how ive let the disabled community down, how ive lost my morals, i found these comments very hurtful as most people who know me knows, i go above and beyond everyday to try and make the lives of disabled people better for no personal profit whatsoever. I asked the Cllr to retract his comments and apologise, it fell on deaf ears as he stated he was standing by them. I then wrote to the party leader to explain my concerns, got no reply, so then wrote to the Chief Executive, i recently got a reply back from her saying, shed spoken to the Cllr and he refuses to retract/apologise for what he said. All i want is a simple apology for comments that were made that i know are totally false as i take what i do as chairman, extremely seriously and importantly, in helping those that need it in our community.
