So here is the update with me and my lovely headaches. On Sunday I had 2 MRIs done. On Monday the doctor called me to say that there was no evidence of a tumor or active stroke. That was the good news. The not so good news is that the MRI indicated an area of the brain that shows an old stroke--meaning at some time (and likely due to my history with DVT (blood clots), I had a clot go to my brain). I thought only old people had strokes! However, this does not account for the pain I am experiencing now. Thank God, the stroke was not even known to me or did not cause obvious damage. For that I am grateful. What is upsetting though is that they need to now do two MRAs (not even sure what that means) tomorrow night to make certain there is not a clot in my neck or brain that is causing the headaches. Apparently there is an area on the brain they are calling unspecified and they feel the need to do more scans to see if they can figure it out. In the meantime, my head still hurts and of course I am nervous. I know all of these tests can come back normal and that maybe I just need to go buy a new pillow ;) In the meantime, I could really use some prayers for protection...and some answers and pain relief. Thank you all. I will keep you posted as this all shakes down.
