So here we are on day 5 of my son Finns appendix adventure. - TopicsExpress

So here we are on day 5 of my son Finns appendix adventure. Someone asked me yesterday if were all traumatized, freaked out and unhappy. Surprisingly, I dont feel that way. Sure - the surgery didnt happen to me - so I didnt experience the physical pain. Although sometimes it feels like it when you see your son hurting. What turns out to be true is that there are many positive aspects to this experience. One way another, I think were all growing in good ways, especially Finn. Among other things, he now knows that over 100 people on Facebook care about him. The experience is shaping him. Hes also building resilience and strength. Having said that, were hoping he comes home today. The doctors have said that, barring complications, hell be with us soon. He has been a champion, working hard to recover. That means taking walks around the ward even when it hurts. That means staying positive as a nine year old boy surrounded by unfamiliar circumstances. Thanks again, Dell Childrens Hospital, for making that easy. And thanks to you, once again, for your vocal support.
