So here we have my latest Millennium Falcon bass, #MFB3, that I built for Tim Blinsmon in North Carolina. Tim was specific about a few aspects that he really wanted this bass to have. One was that he wanted the neck to feel like his Fender Jazz bass. So I used a really nice, 24 fret bass neck with a narrow 1.5 nut width. He also wanted me to build this bass using a Lights and Sounds edition Millennium Falcon, like Ive used for a few of the Millennium Falcon guitars that Ive built. And he also wanted the gun turret thumb rest as seen on my own personal Millennium Falcon bass, #MFB1. So I made sure to incorporate all of these elements, as well as the other standard elements for which my MF builds have become known, such as space battle scene inlaid and painted on the headstock, Star Wars inlays on the fretboard, Han Solo and Chewbacca in the cockpit, Jedi volume and tone knobs, and custom Star Wars strap to complete the picture. I used all black hardware, including a nice top loading bridge, with locking saddles, and black die cast tuners. The scale length is a full 34 long scale. The pickup is a soapbar humbucker, that I painted to match the ship, and mounted right in the middle where the sweet spot is, for the optimal bass tones. The action is set at just below 3/32, nice and fast, and the intonation is perfect all the way up. And I strung it with a set of 45-105 SIT strings. I know hes gonna love this bass.
